The Islands Of Fiji

There are over 300 islands that comprise the island chain of Fiji. Only about 100 are inhabited at this time.Tourism is the main source of income for the island chain. They also produce a large amount of sugar and are heavy into the garment industry. The population of the islands is over 800,000 people the official language is English. The weather in Fiji is tropical but they do have trade winds that subdue the heat and humidity. There is also a rainy season on the island they receive about 9o-100 inches of rain yearly.

The island chain is famous for its clear blue waters and popular with snorkelers and scuba divers. It is also a favorite spot hikers and backpackers. With so many islands you can easily get away from the crowds and find yourself on your own tropical paradise. The islands are everything you would expect of a tropical paradise. Your vacation dollars will go a long way on the islands it is a very inexpensive destination you should budget about $45 dollars a day. The main tourist season generally run May through June.
