Key West

Key West is a city and Island with the same name. It is located in my Monroe county Fl. It is the southernmost city in the continental United States

the Spanish Explorer Ponce de Leon was the first European to arrive in the keys in 1521. Key West became part of the United States in 1822 when Matthew Perry claimed it as United States property.

You may fly into Key West but it will have to be on a small plane such as a commuter because the runways will not accommodate large jets. The island is also accessible by car is about 3 1/2 hours from Miami.

. There are many interesting things to see in the town it is the home of Ernest Hemingway . You will also enjoy a visit to the shipwreck Museum and Key West lighthouse. if you enjoy snorkeling, glass bottom boats, and swimming with the Dolphins you will enjoy Key West.

Key Largo

Key Largo is located about four hours from Miami. It is the largest of the Keys. There are actually two routes into Key Largo one is the Overseas Highway which is also US Highway 1. The other one is Card Sound Road this will connect to County Road 905 and which eventually will run into US 1.

If you are a scuba diver you will definitely love Key Largo it is known as the dive capital of the world. While there you might want to visit the Everglades national Park where they have over 300 species of birds, alligators, and other exotic animals such as a Bobcat.
